Newport News Golf Club at Deer Run offers you an escape to a memorable golfing experience you will want to repeat over and over again. The 8000 acre Newport News Park, which is the largest Municipal Park on the East Coast, hugs the two tree-lined Championship courses. The courses play off rolling Bermuda grass fairways onto meticulously manicured bent grass greens. While playing this beautiful Park, you will pass through bluebird trails that were established in 1972 and an abundance of wildlife that is spectacular to witness. We invite you to visit one of the best Municipal Golf Courses in the Country.

Deer Run Championship Course

  • The Deer Run Golf Course is a spectacular Ed Ault designed Championship Golf Course. The 7,206 course will test the mettle of even the most experienced golfer. Cut among Virginia hardwoods, the players rarely see another group of golfers. Curious white tail deer and the abundance of wildlife have caused it to be listed on the National Audubon Society Registry.

  • The Deer Run course received Golf Digest Best Places to Play 4 Stars

Deer Run Cardinal Course

  • The Cardinal Golf Course provides golfers of all skill levels with a challenging and enjoyable round. The front nines' long, open fairways invite you to put your swing to the test, while the shorter but equally demanding back nine hones your targeting abilities. Songbirds nest among thick stands of pine which guard along the length of this 6,645 yard course - hence its name.

  • The Cardinal Course received Golf Digest Best Places to Play 3 1/2 Stars
